Amanda entrusted Paul to our care believing that we would make
certain Paul would be at his wedding on time. She instructed us to leave
no later than 2:15 and be at the hotel no later than 2:35. We got rolling
at 2:12 and there was no way we were letting Amanda down on her BIG day ...
until .... oops ...... About a mile from the hotel, Sheila noted that she was
doing 57 in a 55 mph zone. Just as she hit the break, the police car off
to the side turned on all his lights and started racing after us with everything
flashing. Needless to say, we each had a few choice words at that
moment. Sheila moved to the right lane so she could pull off, and away he
went! Whew! I think we all lost about 3 years off our lives at that
moment. Sheila had planned on telling the officer to please just issue the
ticket and let us get her boy to the wedding on time! Thank goodness he
wasn't after us, and we arrived at the hotel at exactly 2:35. Our hearts
were still racing, but at least Amanda wasn't going to have to kill us all!
