This is my banana tree to be! Well, actually, it's already a banana tree, it's just hard to tell. It's supposed to start growing fruit when it's nine months to one year old. I guess that remains to be seen! I've already had to re-pot it twice. The second time I put it in a huge pot, so I shouldn't have to re-pot it again anytime soon. I just hope it doesn't start putting out fruit in the middle of the winter! I'd hate to have to open my corner fruit stand when it's below freezing!

This is the tree at the beginning of July, 1997. You can see it's eleven inches tall. It was only about four inches when I got it.

This is the tree as of the beginning of August. It's really growing like a weed. It's already been re-potted again. We're still wondering where the bananas will come from!

It is now the beginning of October, and the tree is growing beautifully. In this picture it's approximately 36" tall.

This picture was taken in April, 1998. The tree has taken over my dining room area and it won't be long for this world unless it produces bananas in a hurry!

I had to move the tree outside. It got way too big for the house. I put it on my deck where it got beaten up by the cruel weather we've been having.
