Thinking back, this is where it all began for me. I
started responding to surveys on the internet about 3 or 4 years ago. Some
of the companies pay as little as $1 or $2 for a 15 minute survey. On the
other hand, there are also companies that pay as much as $35 to $50 for a 20
minute survey or $75 for a 1 hour online focus group. I'm registered with
dozens of internet survey companies. I get surveys regularly from only 3
or 4 of those companies, so it pays to sign up with as many as you can. On
average I complete no more than 1 or 2 surveys a month. But, on a good
month, that could mean an extra $100+ in my pocket. I strongly suggest
that you keep some kind of a spreadsheet that shows which company you did the
survey for, the date completed, and the payment amount. I also have a
column in my spreadsheet where I note when the company says to expect the
payment. When I get my checks, I type the date received in the
spreadsheet. If I feel too much time has passed, I email the companies and
ask where my payments are. Be sure to save the email you get from the
company inviting you to respond to a survey so you'll have all the information
you need to contact them. In the 3 or 4 years that I've been doing this, I
think there have only been 2 surveys that I didn't get paid for, and I simply
don't complete surveys for those companies anymore. I do my spreadsheet in
Excel and would be happy to email a template to anyone who asks.

This is one of my favorite survey sites. I've earned
quite a bit of money from them over the years. They usually pay
fairly well depending on the length and difficulty of a survey. |

This is another one of my favorite sites. Their
surveys are much more difficult than others that I do, but they pay
accordingly. I usually receive $30 to $40 for their surveys which
take an average of 15 to 25 minutes to complete. I've also
participated in a number of online focus groups with them and earned
between $40 and $75 depending on the length and difficulty. They
send payments more slowly than most, but do eventually send them. |

I don't get as many surveys from this company as I do from
the other two, but what I've missed out on in volume, I've made up in
payments. I completed a survey for them in June which paid
$125. It took about 4 hours to complete, but I was given about a
week to do it in. It was fun and easy. |

This company doesn't pay much, but their surveys are quick
and easy. |

This company will send you a couple of surveys a
week. Most are for drawings instead of cash. I won $5 once
in one of their drawings. I rarely complete their surveys anymore
since they average about 20 minutes long and I feel they should be
paying for all that information. However, on occasion they have
asked me to join different panels, and as a member of those panels I've
been paid for each survey either in cash or software. In fact, I
received the full version of Frontpage 2000 from them for completing one
of their panel surveys. Not bad considering it was selling for
around $229 at the time. So, they are definitely worth signing up
with. I just wouldn't waste time completing each and every survey
they send you unless you have nothing better to do. |

This company pays only about $2 or $3 per survey, and they
are very slow about sending payments. I usually have to contact
them numerous times to get my payments. I wouldn't really
recommend them unless you're like me and are trying to milk all the
money you can out of the internet. |
That should be enough to get you off to a good start. Like
I said, I've signed up with dozens of survey sites. But, the ones I've
listed are the ones who actually send me surveys fairly regularly. There
are many other sites out there that put your name in for drawings, but I
concentrate mostly on the ones who state they will pay a set amount for each
survey. I am always signing up for new sites, so if I come across any
others that really appeal to me, I'll add them to the list.
